Needle-Free Botox? RT001 by Revance, a Gel That Delivers the Effects of Botox Without the Injections is on the Way.
A topical gel, RT001, that delivers Botox-like results is being developed by Revance Therapeutics. It transports botulinum toxin to the underlying muscles in the skin through a proprietary carrier peptide. Testing so far has been very successful, with results comparable to Botox. RT001 may also be used for hyperhydrosis sufferers. The gel is applied in a doctors office, left on for 30 minutes and the patient walks out with no bruising or swelling.
